Well, I did it. I purchased the car i've always wanted, a Corvair Monza. Its a 1963 sedan, with the larger 145cui engine and black leather interior. The engine is tired, real tired, and leaks oil like crazy. Good news is that i was able to find a fellow corvair enthusiast who lives less than ten miles away, and was able to find an engine for me. He's going to show me how to drop the engine and transaxle, swap the engine and reinstall it in the car. He's done it in as little as six hours before. It only takes about 30 minutes to drop the entire engine and transaxle on a corvair. He's even letting me use his garage.

Media Matters: Liberal Front Group Attacks Glenn Beck

After watching the first episode of The Glenn Beck Show, I did a quick google search of his name to see what the top results would be. The second result was for a Liberal website named Media Matters, a liberal front group describes itself as a"progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media." I looked into their posts on beck and I found the pages littered with the term "bigot, Racist, and Misinformed" in pretty much every other sentence. I agree that beck has said some things that seem controversial, but that is his shtick. He's edgy. Liberals are allowed to be "edgy," but we never hear mention of that. Mediamatters said that he called katrina victims scumbags, but in reality, the liberals at media matters don't give you the full picture of the Scumbags that Glenn spoke of. In the next sentence Beck went on to explain that the scumbags were those in new Orleans who were carrying plasma TV's from electronics stores, shooting at rescue helicopters, and engaging rescue workers and new Orleans police in firefights in the days after Katrina. Those people deserve every letter of the word scumbag. Look at Austin Texas. Over six months after residents of the New Orleans ghettos migrated, the murder rate in Austin alone has grown a whopping 22% since Katrina, while the year before the murder and overall crime rate had actually fallen. If that isn't the work of "scumbags," than i dont know what is. There's more to come on this folks, stay tuned. By the way, what about all of that liberal bias in the media? Who's gonna take care of that?

WTAM Drops Jerry Springer

Well, I was right. Less than a year after the liberal Asshat took the morning time slot from Glenn Beck, the ratings on WTAM have fallen so low that they would rather Drop him for some local guy that nobody has heard of before. It thrills me to see the entire Air America network go up in flames. I've never heard of a network paying radio stations to carry their programs, that's a new low. It just proves that wherever liberalism is tried it fails.

osX86 Finally

Well, I finally took the plunge and bought a new motherboard and processor last week. It was really time to retire the socket A sempron, after buying a Geforce 6800, it was more of a bottleneck than anything. I went out and bought a Sempron 3100+ and an MSI K8T Neo-v motherboard for 150 bucks at microcenter, my favorite big box computer store. When I got home i decided to try to install a copy of OSX86 that i bittorrented a while back. It installed just fine, and im using safari to type this very post. Its amazing how well it works with only minor patching. I will include a screenshot later.

Mac Modding

Last year I purchased a 350mhz blue and white g3 tower on eBay for 75 dollars. Despite being over five years old, the machine still proves to be very usable with a few minor upgrades that apple never intended you to do. First off, I replaced the anemic Rage II graphics card that was included with my version. My Mac led its previous life as a school computer, and its much faster rage 128 pro was replaced with a slower card that supported video capture, and had the old 15 pin apple monitor connector that was used from 1986 to 1997. I purchased a Pci Radeon 7000 and downloaded pciextreme, which allows CoreGraphics to be enabled on pci based Macs. Last week, I spent another $75.00 on a G4 zif CPU card that was pulled from a "yikes" Powermac G4, the red-headed stepchild of the G4 based powermac family. A firmware patch from Sonnett allowed this processor to work on my blue and white G3, which had basically the same motherboard as the Yikes, but with an ADB port. I also set the CPU jumpers to 4.5x which allowed the processor to be overclocked to 450MHZ. Os X Panther works stunningly, almost as fast as some of the Other AGP Powermacs that I have used. It is amazing that a product as old as this still manages to be as easy to upgrade as it is. Show me a PC from 1999 that can run iTunes on Windows XP without a hiccup. That's right, you cant, they are all in landfills or in the classroom at the Hershey Montessori Farm School. And even those can barely run microsoft word without bricking up constantly.

I began using firefox in late 2003. I was drawn to the browsers incredible security, speed, and efficient use of system of system resources. up untill version 1.06, each release had been equally as stable and lean as the last. 1.06 and .07 seemed just a bit slower, but still very tolerable. After installing and using 1.5 for a month, i just want to wonder, what happened? The browser chews through memory, somtimes using 30% CPU cycles. The browser has managed to crash my PC, which us based on an athlon 64 3200+ and 1 gig of ram. The browser also crashes during more page loads than any other version that I have ever used. i don't know if its just sloppy coding, or a beta that was pushed out too soon as a final release. At this point it seems to me that it takes up as much memory as IE, if not more, not to mention the huge memory leak that grows of browser is left open for more than 12 hours. I really hope that the Mozilla dev team will work these problem out. The last few versions of the browser were perfect, why ruin the record now?

Wow, im a conservative and even I think that these women are nuts. Groups like this make all conservatives look like bible banging prudes. It floors me how a good "christian" like Jan LaRue takes so many cheap shots on Mr. Dvorak in her press release. Apparenently Ms. LaRue has very little knowledge on how the internet works, and how viral porn advertising has gotten so bad in the first place. Pornographers have no desire to market their product to "impressionable children" because the kids can't pay for it anyway. I don't know of too many 13 year olds with a credit card. What buisness markets its product to those who are unable to buy it. I know that there is free porn on the net, but the .xxx domain would make it easier for parents to keep track of their kids in the first place. After all, controlling what a kid sees on the net is the job of the parent anyway. All kids will see porn sometime. There was porn way before the advent of the net, and there will be porn long after its gone.

God, I Hate Windows.

Well, its that time again, I've had the same install of windows on my box for about 3 and a half months now, and it seems that Microsoft's little "Use By:" date has expired on me. Maybe its just me, but I feel like I'm spending more time maintaining and running patches on my computer than I spend actually using it for constructive purposes. Now it seems that the Execs at apple wanted to get on the "patch Tuesday" bandwagon too. The last four times that I have booted up tiger, software update has popped up and there are at least four patches listed in the top pane. I'm sick of using software that feels like it is a permanent beta . Well, anyways, it looks like I will be backing up my necessary files and running autoclave pretty soon here. Now it seems quicker to just start fresh that try to clean the registry, scan for malware, defrag the HDD, run AVG, and clean up the temporary files. Boy, do i feel Depressed.

Well, I've kinda been neglecting this blog since the week I put it up, and now that I finally have the chance I will start posting again. Of all of the many things that i've been doing lately, this one has been the most hilarious. My former school has been needing some tech support so I've been spending some time reformatting f****ed up PC's and removing the vast stashes of crap that just seems to be everywhere. I just found that the "networking consultant" that the staff pays 60 bucks an hour to "secure" their network gave read/ write permissions for the "confidential" faculty/staff drive to all users on the domain, including the students. That's a disaster waiting to happen. The guy also uses 6 digit numerical passwords to the administrator account that a retarded three year old could crack . 900600, wow! That's complex, its also the same admin password as all of the local client machines. The sad part is that most of the staff are so computer illiterate that its a miracle that they can figure out how to log on to windows in the first place. The one guy who can actually get his way around a PC is sometimes ignored. The "IT Professional" can tell them anything and they will believe his sheister ass.

Here's a little example
(IT guy speaking) "UH, your memory needs to be recharged, It will take me 6 hours plus $250 in parts."
(Teacher Speaking) "Sure, just do your thing and ill write out the check. Whatever you need to do to make it work."

Idiots!
This kind of ignorance goes on between clients and IT staff all the time, at businesses all over the country. Its really f***ing sad.

One Large Loss for WTAM, One Small Gain For Others

WTAM is Dead.

Nearly Three months after dropping the Glenn Beck Program from its lineup for the King of The Trailer Park, Jerry Springer, WTAM's listener ratings have fallen sharply. After Cleveland went blue in the last election, the brass at Clear Channel headquarters thought it would be a good idea to add some liberal commentary to their lineup. Instead of picking a respected liberal commentator, they went for the guy who's daily TV talkshow usually tackles the tough issues, like, "Help!, I'm married to a trailer trash lesbian midget who has been sleeping with her sister!". Why should I be preached to by a man who paid a hooker with a personal check during his time as mayor of Cincinnati. Rush may have been caught with a little Vicodin, but that doesn't even come close to the problems that this former cokehead has buried in the overgrown backyard of his conscience. Not to mention, he is one of the worst sounding talk show hosts I have ever heard. My god, if this guy heard just what his voice sounded like coming from the other end of a cheap transistor radio, he would blow his brains out. If anything good came out of this, its that The Glenn Beck Program has now been syndicated by numerous other AM stations in or around Cleveland. WHLO AM 640, Akron, WELO AM 930, Elyria, and WFUN AM 970, Ashtabula have now added Beck to their lineups hoping to grab some of WTAM's alienated "Sick Freaks"

Well, after a couple of years of reading numerous blogs, I finally took the plunge today. Being a tech junkie as well as a conservative, this blog will be an interesting medley. Its kinda like taking stories from Digg and putting then in a blender with equal parts Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. I hope you all enjoy the result.
